A
Angel
Also known as the Dragons of Earth, the Seven Angels are seven people tasked with destroying that city's barriers, with the goal of eventually destroying the city itself. While each Angel has their own personal reasons for being drawn to the cause, the general purpose of the Dragons of Earth is to destroy humanity in order to protect the Earth from its ravages.
An Angel usually has no desire to protect anything or anyone. This can be either because he or she has nothing that he or she wishes to protect, or because he or she does not believe himself or herself capable of protecting anything. As long as the Angel has nothing he or she wishes to protect, he or she cannot change sides and become a Seal. If the Angel gains something that he or she wishes to protect, he or she has the chance to convert to the side of the Seals.
B
Barrier
One of seven locations that serves as a mystical cornerstone for its existence. Destroying the barriers slowly wears away at a city. Destroying every barrier obliterates the entire city.
Barriers are usually landmarks or locations of some importance to the city in which they are located.
C
D
Dreamseer
From the Japanese yumemi, a person gifted — or cursed, depending on one's viewpoint — with the ability to see the future in his or her dreams. A dreamseer can foresee attacks on barriers and let the Seals know when they will happen — or not, depending on which side the dreamseer supports.
With unerring precognition comes a steep price. The dreamseer is involuntarily forced to give up something precious for his or her abilities. For some, this is a loss of sensitivity — blindness, deafness, an inability to speak or walk. Some lose one or more of their loved ones in a shocking or horrible fashion. A few simply go insane — and many dreamseers lose their minds anyway, whether it is their price or not, due to the intense and often violent visions they experience.

G
Gemini
A Kamui's opposite number, his or her "twin star," destined to take the side that the Kamui does not choose. If a Kamui chooses the side of the Seals, his or her Gemini is forced to become an Angel, and vice versa.
No one except the dreamseers and the Gemini themselves actually knows of the twin stars' existence from the beginning of the war.

Kamui
The title given to those who have the power to choose their own fates, to protect or destroy humanity as they decide. There is, as one might expect, only one.
Kekkai
May also be called a "barrier," though not in the same sense as the barriers defined in this glossary. A kekkai is a shield of metaphysical force that can be created by one of the Seven Seals. The kekkai is almost invisible once it is put up, though each Seal's kekkai has its own unique geometric shape.
Seals use kekkai to protect barriers or other areas that are under attack by the Angels. Once it is raised, only the will of the Seal responsible, or that Seal being removed from the battle, may take it down. The area inside a raised kekkai becomes an alternate dimension of sorts; no one except those intended to participate in the war may cross into its boundaries. Any damage caused to structures inside the kekkai will not remain if the Seal later lowers it of his or her own will. Buildings and the like will appear as if they had never been attacked. However, if the Seal who raised the kekkai is killed, critically injured, or knocked unconscious, it automatically collapses, and any damage to the area is transferred over into the real world.
Seals who were Seals from the beginning instinctively know how to raise a kekkai. Neutrals who were promoted to Seals, Angels who change sides and become Seals, and Kamui or Gemini who choose or are placed on the side of the Seals must learn how to put one up. A Seal who converts to the side of the Angels loses his or her ability to make a kekkai, since he or she no longer has anything to protect.

N
Neutral
A person destined to partake in the war, but whose fate yet remains unrevealed. Neutrals can fill the place of a fallen Seal or Angel, though not all of them do.

Seal
Also known as the Dragons of Heaven, the Seven Seals are seven people tasked with protecting that city's barriers from the attacks of the Angels. The general purpose of the Seals is to protect humanity in the belief that people can be made to learn from their mistakes and live in harmony with the Earth instead of causing unnecessary damage to it.
A Seal always has something he or she strongly wishes to protect. This can be a person or people, his or her city, virtually anything. As long as he or she continues to want to protect that thing, he or she cannot change sides and become an Angel. If the Seal loses the desire to protect, or if he or she loses the thing that he or she wanted to protect, he or she has a chance to convert to the side of the Angels.
Seven
...is a fantastically important number, as one may have realized.

W
Weaponbirther
Weaponbirthers give birth to the Holy Weapons. There are two of them. They explode, basically, for lack of a better phrase. Yes, this does mean that they will all eventually die. Normally one weapon is given to the Kamui and the other to the Gemini.
